Melbourne Central’s tower square has been over-laid with over 40 sqm of native flora.

In support of the Melbourne International Design Festival, the area next to the heritage listed shot tower has been completely covered in a man-made vertical garden by Patrick Blanc.

The living plantation is soil-less and relatively maintenance free. It has been cultivated via a recycled watering system which filters from top to bottom and feeds the masses of vegetation and is held together by a minimal metal structure.
