Not only could you see your company’s project crowned a pioneer of sustainability, but you could win a Nintendo Wii if you make a nomination in the 2008 BPN Environ Sustainability Awards. Each submission goes into the draw to win one Wii, with the prize drawn August 1 and the winner announced in the December issue of BPN.

In 2008, the Awards will continue to promote sustainability and push the boundaries of innovation with an enhanced awards scheme.

The 2008 BPN Environ Sustainability Awards include three new categories: Single Dwelling (Alterations & Extensions); Landscaping; and Innovation of the Year. In the Innovation of the Year category, judges will be looking for outstanding products or services which support the building industry’s sustainability initiatives. In the Landscaping award, judges will be looking for standout landscaping designs with strong sustainable elements including conservation of natural resources, maintenance and material usage.

A respected panel of judges will again review all entries. The judges will look for demonstrable examples of innovation and excellence in land use and ecology, water conservation, energy efficiency, product selection and emissions.

Entries for the awards will close July 15, 2008. Projects in Australia which were completed between June 30, 2007 and June 30, 2008 are eligible for entry.
