Think Brick Australia has developed the online Climate Design Wizard, making it easier for designers to create more climate friendly homes.
The wizard provides homeowners, builders and architects with information about local climates, as well as design strategies which, when adopted, help achieve environmentally friendly homes.
It now includes 27 locations, covering all states and major urban areas of Australia.
Users can also create and download their own location reports and view diagrams that summarise the best building orientation for each location.
The development of the Climate Design Wizard comes after a recent Newspoll survey found that 70 per cent of Australian homeowners believe that energy efficiency is either not relevant or only a minor consideration when purchasing a home.
