Designed by young architect Neil McKenzie with interiors by Swedish designer Anna Carin, ten three-storey Torrens Title terraces incorporating something known as a 'Fonzie Flat' are to be built in Sydney.
Designed as modern versions of the Victorian terrace, the Ten Terraces will have large rooms, high ceilings and also include full-height glazing and frameless glass balustrades to accentuate the a sense of spaciousness.
Each will have three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a powder room, balcony, wintergarden, front and rear courtyards, rear lane access and a garage.
And each terrace will also contain a practical space with a bathroom built above the garage known as a ‘Fonzie Flat’ — a salute to the studio occupied by ‘The Fonz’ above the Cunningham’s garage in the TV series Happy Days.
The Terraces will have solid dark-stained timber flooring in living spaces, wool carpet in bedrooms, full-height stacking and sliding doors opening onto timber decks, zoned and ducted air-conditioning, and an integrated low-glare lighting system.
The kitchens incorporate island bench Caesarstone counter tops, ceramic spashbacks, polyurethane and American white oak veneer cabinetry and Miele appliances.
Each bathroom features Roger Seller stainless steel fittings, a rainfall showerhead, frameless glass shower screen, stainless steel linear floor waste and a custom-designed vanity.
The building will be located in Alexandria, adjacent to Green Square - Australia’s largest urban renewal project.
