- Student (Years 1-6) AU & NZ

Celebrating colour excellence
The Dulux Colour Awards is a crucial industry platform to recognise excellence in the creative application of colour, says Dulux colour and communications manager Andrea Lucena-Orr.
"The Dulux Colour Awards celebrates design and how the considered use of bold and imaginative colour can truly transform the form, feeling and function of a space.
"As seen in last year’s Australian Grand Prix winner, Alexandria House by Lachlan Seegers Architect absolutely wowed judges for its unpredictability and commitment to a singular gesture in the application of a deep, burnished red to the ceiling of the home. Similarly, the New Zealand Grand Prix winner, Seven Colourful Little Houses by COMMON Architecture + Interiors, took a simple idea but applied it with great care and a deep conviction, which now sets a new precedent for this typology highlighting colour as a cost-effective, highly impactful design strategy.
“The depth of talent, sophistication and ambition demonstrated by our emerging and established design community never fails to impress the judging panel's expectations, and we eagerly await to observe their appraisal of this year’s entries.”
This year’s judging panel includes Andrew Parr, managing director, SJB; Alex McLeod, co-founder, At.Space; Rachel Luchetti, co-founder, Luchetti Krelle; Kim Bridgeland, co-founder & director, Edition Office; and Kerstin Thompson, principal, KTA.
Parr explains that the Dulux Colour Awards provide an exciting opportunity to witness and assess some of the most inspiring and innovative techniques being employed by the best of the best to push the boundaries of colour in architecture and design.
“The creative use of colour is such an integral aspect of design, particularly when a project has multiple constraints, and I’m eager to see how this year’s entrants have embraced it to enhance function and form across residential and commercial spaces.”
