The annual BDAV Building Design Awards program once again invites registered architects and draftspersons to enter the competition.

The 2016 BDAV Building Design Awards competition will include the People's Choice Award where the public will be invited to vote online; promotional media articles about each entrant; and promotional video  about the winner of the Building Design of the Year award.

BDAV members are requested to read the entry information prior to putting together their submissions. For instance, those entering the Best Energy Efficient Design or Best Environmentally Sustainable Design categories will have to submit an associated checklist with their entry form.

Both the entry information and the awards entry form are available online on the BDAV website. Entries must be submitted on a DVD/USB in both PowerPoint as well as PDF formats, and should contain at least 12 professional standard photographs of the project.

Each PowerPoint submission must be accompanied by brief statements on the client brief, site context, and design response as well as why the project is award-worthy. Additional background text on the project should be submitted in a separate Word file.

Entrants agree to make a presentation about their submission at a BDAV CPD event if so invited by the BDAV. Winning entrants must agree to have their projects entered by BDAV in the 2016 National Building Design Awards organised by the National Association of Building Designers.

Entries close at 4pm on Friday, 8 April 2016. Winners will be announced at the BDAV Annual Dinner to be held on Saturday, 30 July 2016 at the Great Hall, National Gallery of Victoria.
