Sydney-based property developer Crown Group has revealed the first images and details of its latest project – Skye by Crown.
Adding to the North Sydney skyline, the building has been designed by world-renowned Japanese-Australian architect Koichi Takada, who is known for a sculptural, artistic approach to design.
Skye by Crown will have 232 apartments in a 20-storey residential complex, which includes an expansive foyer with retail and restaurant precinct at ground level and a rooftop infinity edge pool.
Crown Group CEO Iwan Sunito says Skye by Crown is unlike any other residential development in Australia.
“Skye by Crown draws on Crown Group’s 17 years of experience and success in Sydney - combined with world-class architecture – to create something truly unique.
“The bold design and high-quality construction will raise the benchmark for residential developments in Sydney,” Sunito says.
Hundreds of registrations of interest to own one of the apartments have already being received, ahead of the project launch in June.
"Purchasers can expect the renowned Crown facilities in Skye to complement their inner-city lifestyle; we are always working to deliver more in every project and I'm excited to say Skye by Crown will offer world-class and a Sydney first in amenities," he says.
Architect Koichi Takada says designing Skye by Crown was an amazing opportunity to demonstrate what is possible for luxury residential living in Sydney.
Takada’s design features glass facades, with balconies and wintergardens, and a sculpturally-inspired bronze coloured metal ‘veil’ creating a modern, elegant exterior.
“The infinity pool on top of the architecture creates an illusion of floating above the city skyline. The organic veil creates a sculptural quality as well as a soft transition from busy city life into the residential amenity,” Takada says.
Construction of the apartment building is scheduled to start in late-2013 with a display suite opening in North Sydney in late-May.
