An informal session with the Government Architect NSW (GANSW) team is being organised as part of the GA200+ series of events in Sydney later this month.
The event, ‘GA200+ - 10 months’ on will present participants with an opportunity to meet the GANSW team led by NSW Government Architect Peter Poulet and hear from them about the priorities and key projects for 2016-17. It is now ten months since the Office of the GANSW joined the Department of Planning.
Key highlights of the event include:
- presentation of the recently released draft policy, ‘Better Placed – A Design Led approach: developing an Architectural and Design Policy for NSW’;
- an overview of the GANSW initiative, Missing Middle open ideas competition; and,
- an outline of the suite of design excellence tools being developed, aimed at achieving better built environment outcomes and at communicating the measurable benefits of good design.
To be held on Tuesday, November 29, 2016, 6:30 PM - 8:00 PM AEDT at the Institute of Architects, 3 Manning Street, Potts Point, Sydney 2011, the GA200+ event is free to attend but registration is recommended.
The Government Architect NSW provides leadership for the New South Wales Government in architecture, urban design, landscape architecture and design thinking. In September, the Office of the Government Architect launched a new draft Policy for Architecture and Urban Design in NSW, as part of GA200+, a series of events running throughout 2016 celebrating 200 years of public architecture in NSW.
