An image of the swimming pool at the new campus of Tianjin University has been named the best architecture photograph of the year by stock photography company, Arcaid Images.
Taken by Shanghai-based photographer Terrence Zhang, the photo of the Atelier Li Xinggang-designed project took home the top prize at this year’s Arcaid Images Architectural Photography Awards. Zhang also had another two photographs shortlisted in the awards.
The annual awards, which is now in its fifth year, incorporated four separate categories of architectural photography: Exterior, Interior, Sense of Place, and Building in Use.
The shortlisted entries were displayed during last week’s World Architecture Festival (WAF) in Berlin. Delegates voted for the overall winner, which was announced on the final day of the festival.
In February, Zhang’s image will be on display at an exhibition in London, alongside the 19 other entries shortlisted at the Arcaid Awards this year.
