Tanjong Pagar, Singapore
American firm SOM has unveiled plans to build Singapore's tallest tower. The 64-storey, 290-metre tower will be positioned on the eastern part of the Tanjong Pagar Centre site, and will contain offices on its lower floors and luxury apartments above. A smaller tower alongside it will accommodate a business hotel overlooking the redesigned Tanjong Pagar City Park.

Mumbai, India
Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill Architecture has unveiled the prototype of what they hope will become Mumbai’s tallest skyscraper. According to AS+GG, the slender 116-story, 400-meter residential Imperial Tower is designed to "confuse the wind," with north and south facing sky gardens being used to break up wind currents around the tower.

New York-based architecture studio SO-IL has been selected by the University of California (UC Davis) to design the Jan Shrem and Maria Manetti Shrem Museum of Art at its Davis campus. The plan unites 29,000 sq ft of interior space and a 50,000 sq ft floating steel canopy for use as a teaching base and home for art experiences.

Silverstone, the home of the British Grand Prix, is to get £9.1m of lottery money to help build a Formula 1 heritage centre. It is one of six major projects to be given first round support from the Heritage Lottery Fund, worth a total of £68m. Awards also go to Aberdeen art gallery, Alexandra Palace, Auckland Castle, a brewery in Cornwall and a warship in Belfast

A committee has selected Daniel Libeskind’s design for a $2 million Statehouse Holocaust memorial featuring a yellow Star of David - despite concerns that a religious symbol would open the state to legal challenges. Libeskind’s design includes an 18-foot tall brushed stainless-steel memorial accompanied by a 40-foot walkway and memorial words etched in limestone.
