Architects Michael Hansmeyer and Benjamin Dillenburger have revealed a prototype for the world’s first 3D-printed room. Named Digital Grotesque and due to be unveiled on 22 July, the full-scale ornate room will have 80 million surfaces rendered in smooth printed sandstone, with certain parts glazed and gilded.

Danish architect and founder of self-titled firm Henning Larsen Architects has died in Copenhagen at the age of 87. Known as the “master of light”, Larsen oversaw a versatile array of projects during his career, including the luminous Harpa Concert Hall in Island, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs building in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and the Malmo City Library in Sweden.

Citylab Design Studio has unveiled their winning proposal for an archaeological visitor centre in Lenggong Valley, Malaysia. The centre will be made from bamboo, which can be grown and cultivated on-site, and it will feature live archaeological excavations and an elevated tropical forest canopy walk.

As the Wimbledon tennis championships kicked off this week, The All England Lawn Tennis Club unveiled a master plan to guide the redevelopment of the famed sports facility. Designed by Grimshaw, the new master plan aims to improve the overall circulation, facilities and user experience, while Grant Associates will create a landscape inspired by traditional English gardens.

After several years of public outcry and design revisions, Frank Gehry's proposal for the Dwight D. Eisenhower memorial has been unanimously approved by a Washington Commission. The design features large woven steel "tapestries" depicting scenes from Eisenhower's early life in Kansas.
