London’s oldest fruit and veg market has been given a strikingly modern makeover that complements its thousand-year history. Euston-based architect Jestico + Whiles has been working since 1998 designing a new viaduct coming out of London Bridge station and driving right through the site of the market.

Berlin, Germany

Daniel Libeskind has completed an education centre at the Jewish Museum Berlin, twelve years after the American architect completed his widely acclaimed extension. Located across the street within the structure of Berlin’s old flower market, the Academy provides a new home to the museum’s library and archive.

Randers, Denmark

Danish architecture firm CEBRA has recently put forth designs for a six-armed ski dome to take over the city of Randers, Denmark. The six indoor and two outdoor slopes will comprise a supposed snowflake-shaped structure that also serves as a bridge connecting two parts of the city.

Scotland, The United KIngdom

The Royal Scottish Academy has revealed the line-up of exhibitors participating in the institutions first ever open submission exhibition exclusively for architecture. Alan Dunlop will be showcasing drawings of his South Rotunda project and Edinburgh University’s biomedical masterplan, Gross Max will be showing off their Templehof Park work and GMA | Ryder, with Chris Malcolm will display his drawing work for a new Grampian Police custody centre.

Jakarta, Indonesia

MVRDV (Rotterdam), The Jerde Partnership (Los Angeles) and Arup (Dubln) have unveiled a forward-thinking competition entry for a prime development site in Jakarta. The scheme has already been presented to Peruri, the site owner, and if selected, will transform the existing block into a towering 400m-high mixed-use development comprising retail, office and residential units.
