Hill House by Andrew Maynard Architects (pictured) has been named overall winner in the 2012 Vision Awards run by Australian glass manufacturer Viridian.

All the winners were announced at the 2012 National Architecture Conference in Brisbane.

Now in their fourth year, the awards are designed to celebrate and promote the energy efficient and innovative use of glass in Australian architecture.

Winning the Overall Vision Award Winner category secured a prize trip to Venice with two passes to the exclusive opening of the 2012 Venice Architecture Biennale for Andrew Maynard Architects for their work on the Hill House project.

Viridian’s Commercial Channel Manager Anthony Gunther presented the awards and said that the interest from the industry this year had been outstanding.

“The quality of this year’s entries was of an exceptionally high standard. Competition was strongly contested. The judging panel of industry representatives were split in their decision making in one of the categories leading them to select joint winners for the Residential Creative Interior Glass Application award,” explained Anthony.

“The entrants profiled in all five categories showcased the increasingly sophisticated and innovative ways in which glass applications are being used to transform buildings and living environments in projects throughout the country.”
