The 2009 Architectural 3D Awards were held in La Coruna, Spain earlier this year, showcasing amazing examples of architectural visualisation.
The awards, sponsored by CGarchitect.com, were created in 2004 to recognise the many different types of artists and work being done in the industry, with many individuals and companies using the event to form new alliances and partnerships.
This year, eight more categories were added to the awards, including one for real-time presentations.
Olivier Defaye was the winner of the Most Original Image Treatment award and was a nominee for the Best Overall Architecture Image, Best Architectural Exterior Image and Industry Choice awards. Defaye created it as part of a 3-image series based on the idea that buildings are growing by themselves.
In the Architectural Image category, Juan Altieri of Uruguay collected more first prizes than any other entry, taking out the Best Overall Architectural Image, Best Architectural Interior Image (pictured above) and Industry Choice awards.
