Shane Thompson, principal of BVN Architecture is leaving the studio to embark on a new phase in his career.

Mr Thompson has been with the practice for 26 years and has been instrumental in BVN’s development as a national practice during that period.

“It’s never an easy decision to leave a long term relationship, particularly one that has been as symbiotic and immensely rewarding as that with BVN,” said Thompson.

“I decided that if I wished to exploit my enthusiasm for new technologies and processes and explore many of my other interests in architecture now was the right time for me to leave.”

BVN national director, James Grose said “Shane’s made an extraordinary contribution to BVN over a quarter of a century that includes involvement in many award winning buildings.”

“He has also been a leading figure in architectural development such as the leadership role he played in the Queensland Government’s exhibition for the Shanghai Expo last year that was aimed at promoting Queensland architects and architecture to the world.”
