Artist Nick Gentry has reclaimed mountains for floppy disks, videotapes and cassettes for the art world.
His paintings discuss the social impacts of technology. Each tape or disk has a story of its own to tell and you can donate your old media to the artist recycling.
Gentry said his work highlights the way in which personal data used to be confined to media formats whereas now all data is shared and multiplied.
“To challenge this notion, as these personal artifacts of life are cast aside, the obsolete are now given new life and a renewed purpose by using them as a medium for art,” he said.
