Aqueducts, staircases and cathedrals are inspiring unique architectural jewellery from one US designer.

Through his collection, Joshua DeMonte explores the relationship between architecture and environment by translating architectural elements into jewellery and transferring the wearer into the site.

"My work has replaced the traditional embellishments of jewellery objects with the details of traditional architectural form. The objects have become jewellery that have defined architectural space around the body, altering our perception of the figure," DeMonte said.

DeMonte has completed a Master of Fine Arts at the Tyler School of Art in Philadelphia's Temple University, majoring in jewellery design, computer aided design and manufacturing. He also specialises in fashion, industrial design and 3D modelling.
