The I heart Kings Cross graffiti knitting project has won the "Remix in the City" award overnight at the FBi & TIME OUT Sydney Music, Arts & Culture (SMAC) awards.
The award recognises Sydney's most groundbreaking physical space, location or landmark and turned it into a creative heartland for all Sydneysiders.
I heart Kings Cross was a City of Sydney commissioned project, developed in partnership with Reef Knot and was part of the City's Art & About 2009 festival.
Over 200 people crocheted and knitted as part of the collaborative knitting project with their hard work displayed on trees, poles, signs and viewed by thousands of people throughout Kings Cross.
Art & About was also nominated for Best Major Festival in the SMAC awards which celebrate originality, creativity & innovation.
