The inaugural Grand Designs Australia Live will aim to bring to life elements of the UK and Australian television programs in Sydney from 21 to 23 October.

Held in the Convention and Exhibition Centre, the show will be divided into four quarters: Interiors, Building, Outdoors and Kitchen & Bathrooms.

Some highlights the organisers have flagged include:

Interiors

Highlights of ‘Grand Interiors’ include Rooms by Design and Philips House of the Future.

Dulux and the Whitehouse Institute of Design, Australia will join together to create Rooms by Design. Four Whitehouse students will have their creative room designs constructed at the live event to showcase their vision of ethically, emotionally, economically and ecologically sustainable interior design.

The House of the Future aims to showcase the latest in advanced technology, design and innovation for home entertainment systems and lighting.

Building

Features will include the Austral Bricks Expert Advice Centre and LifeStyle Channel Grand Theatre.

It aims to appeal to visitors attempting any scale of project from a new-build, renovation or extension. Pre-fabricated homes will be on display as well as some of the technologically advanced and eco-friendly materials.

Outdoors

The hall will feature sustainable Designer Eco House built by SBS Residential. It will include an architecturally designed, zero energy house decorated by an interior designer complete with a professionally landscaped garden.

Kitchen and Bathrooms

The Kitchen quarter will feature the Miele Kitchen Theatre and an expert advice centre.
