The Design for Lockwood competition is open to architects, design professionals and students, the theme for the 2011 competition is Key to the Key.
Any member of the design community is eligible to enter, including architects, industrial designers, interior designers and students.
The competition seeks an innovative new design to the simple key head. The theme encourages entrants to consider sustainable designs and the latest product innovation trends, which is the 'key' to successful design. Think outside the square of current key heads… aesthetic, original ideas that take steps forward in the evolution of the humble key.
An all expenses paid trip to Hong Kong will also be presented to the winner.
Entrants are asked to submit designs that will change the way we look or use keys, now and in the future. Each concept; be it fashionable, functional or futuristic will be judged on usage, relevance and design.
The jury panel will be made up of an Institute of Architects representative, a practicing architect, and two ASSA ABLOY representatives.
