Architect Kelvin Ho and interior stylist Alex Zabotto Bentley have collaborated with creative agency the projects* to design a MasterChef pop-up restaurant and bar in Sydney.
Ho was in charge of the design of the outdoor structure which aimed to translate the on-screen show into a fine dining experience . It was constructed by Butlers Hire.
The restaurant and bar’s positioning in the forecourt of St Mary’s Cathedral in Sydney’s CBD utilises the large open space ideal for such a concept, with views across Hyde Park to the city beyond.
The restaurant was staffed by winners and contestants from the show as well as some of the most respected names in Australia food including Kylie Kwong and Christine Mansfield, was sold out for the duration of its temporary stay before the event opened.
Locals are still able to go down for drinks in the bar where they can also snacks.
