A 13-metre tall kangaroo named Matilda will soon be standing beside a roadhouse in Gympie in Queensland.
This particular kangaroo is best known for its staring role at the 1982 Commonwealth Games in Brisbane, and later stints at a theme park on the Gold Coast.
The kangaroo was purchased by Matilda Fuel Supplies, which took its name from Matilda after its Games performance.
The Gympie Times reports that the new look Matilda will be unveiled at the Kybong travel centre on Friday.
The refurbishment of Matilda included repainting, fibreglass repairs, replacement of steelworks, and automation technology that will allow it to blink.
