Two Australian architectural firms are now under the international spotlight, with projects making the finalists list in the 2011 Emirates Glass LEAF Awards.
Both projects are from Melbourne: NH Architecture’s Myer redevelopment in Bourke Street and Kavellaris Urban Design’s Jewel.

Now in its Eighth year, the awards honour the architects ‘designing the buildings and solutions that are setting the benchmark for the international architectural community’.

The awards are open to all individuals and organisations that have made an outstanding contribution to the world of architecture.
In 2010 the Overall Winner was Soccer City National Stadium — “The Melting Pot”, Johannesburg, South Africa designed byBoogertman + Partners and Populous.
Previous winners have included Zaha Hadid, David Chipperfield, SOM, Steven Holl and Terry Farrell.
