The competition objectives challenge the traditional design of streetscapes and calls for entries to:

  • Establish create design responses that satisfy functional needs
  • Create interest in the detail within the public realm
  • Highlight the need to address global issues on a local scale
  • Benefit the culture and nature of important places.

Lilydale

The township of Lilydale is identified in Melbourne 2030 as a Major Activity Centre with exciting urban renewal opportunities. It has a complex blend of retail, major employers, transport connections, education, heritage and regional significance. It also provides a physical gateway to the Yarra Valley and the Dandenong Ranges.
