THE soon to be completed upgrade of Sydney Airport’s International Terminal (T1) has received strong approval from passengers. Sydney Airport released the results of a passenger survey showing that passengers appreciate the improved travel experience that is being produced by the ongoing upgrade.
- 84 per cent of passengers rated the terminal at 7 or above out of 10. This is an increase on the 67 per cent recorded when construction was at its most extensive
- About one third (34 per cent) of passengers are highly satisfied and rated the International Terminal 9 or 10 out of 10
- 3 per cent of passengers rated the International Terminal at the low level of 1 to 3 out of 10.
The CEO of Sydney Airport, Russell Balding, said that the results showed that passengers appreciated the improvements that the $500 million terminal upgrade was delivering. Construction on the departures level is scheduled to be complete by May 2010.
