Chair love story or chair nightmare? E2 creative director Alex Richie is hosting a forum for the sitting obsessed that promises to “delve into the underbelly of chair life”.
“Seriously anyone who loves good design will enjoy this talk,” says Ritchie, who started his experiential design consultancy E2 two years ago with Robbie Robertson and has worked, with clients including Qantas, Singleton Ogilvey Mather, Commonwealth Bank and Virgin Mobile. Ritchie will talk about the chair and its use through retail, commercial and residential space, make historical comment on our culture of ‘sitting down’ and compare designers.
Long the stomping ground of the design pioneer, world famous chairs strike a tricky balance between functionality and beauty.
The evening will culminate in a skillful game of musical chairs where the person with the biggest elbows will win their very own chair.
