The newly-crowned world’s tallest building has already become the stage for a death-defying extreme sports stunt.
Nasr Al Niyadi and Omar Al Hegelan from the Emirates Aviation Society touched down perfectly from the 672 metre jump from the top of the Burj Khalifa tower, setting the record for the world’s highest base jump last week.
The duo descended at a rapid 137mph, landing the 160-storey jump in under one and a half minutes.
The team jumped with permission from the building owners.
Ahmed Al Matroushi, managing director of UAE’s Emaar Properties, said: “The highest base jump undertaken by the UAE national and his trainer is another human achievement that complements the Burj Khalifa’s accomplishment track record.”
