“This issue represents one of the great challenges for urban settlement in the 21st Century and we are excited at the contribution Camilla can make to this area of design enquiry”, said Eli Giannini, a director at of MGS Architects.

The Scholarship was established by the directors of MGS Architects - Robert McGauran, Eli Giannini, Mun Soon, Chris Jones, Cameron Lacy and Joshua Wheeler - to commemorate their first 25 years in practice.

MGS will be supporting an annual travelling scholarship and mentorship programme at Monash University for young women in their third or fourth year of the Architectural programme.

“Whilst over 50 per cent of students entering architecture are women, the number remaining in the profession and leading practices remains disappointingly low,” said Robert McGauran.

“The MGS Women in Architecture Scholarship is a way for us to support female students at third or fourth year level, to offer what we hope will be a boost of support at this critical point of their degree and subsequently in their career development.”
