A university in Denmark has created a circular dorm that is sure to make anyone who spent their college years in tiny double room very envious. Copenhagen’s Tietgen Student Hall (Tietgenkollegiet), is a 288,000-square-foot, seven-story, rounded building designed by Lundgaard & Tranberg, which combines a number of amenities including a bike workshop, music rooms and an assembly hall, with energy efficient communal living.

Seoul, South Korea
A modest, 306 sq m French restaurant in Seoul, Korea is the most recent project to be completed by emerging local firm BANG by MIN. Led by Sae Min Oh, the team has created La Ville de Pins - an intimate dining experience in the Gangnam area which stands out from its neighbours with its bold architectural form, punctuating the monotone buildings in the street with a shot of bright white.

The American Institute of Architects (AIA) Committee on Architecture for Education (CAE) has selected 15 educational and cultural facilities for this year’s CAE Educational Facility Design Awards. The purpose of the design awards program is to identify trends and emerging ideas, honour excellence in planning and design, and disseminate knowledge about best practices in educational and community facilities. Fifteen awards were issued in three categories, which include awards of Citation, Merit and Excellence.

Osaka, Japan
Japanese design studio UZU, has completed a sloping nursery school, which is located amongst rice fields in Osaka. Otonoha School looks to develop children’s relationship with nature and music and is connected directly to the rice fields via a stair case, which leads to a deck and a green slope. Two artists were also employed to add the softeness of nature to the building's interior, harmonizing the light and curtains with the motion of wind and children.

Giant's Causeway, Northern Ireland
It has been announced that Roísín Heneghan of architects Heneghan Peng will be speaking at the inaugural World Architecture Day 2012 event. The Heneghan Peng practice is known for its work on the Giant's Causeway Visitor Centre in Northern Ireland, which was opened earlier this year. The UNESCO World Heritage Site is a collection of around 40,000 basalt columns created during an ancient volcanic eruption.
