The ANSYS SpaceClaim direct modelling software from ANSYS, Inc. has been
selected as Desktop Engineering’s Editor’s Pick of the Week for November 26,
2014.
Anthony J. Lockwood, editor at large for Desktop Engineering explains
that the 2015 version of the ANSYS SpaceClaim direct modelling solution is the
first major release of the software since ANSYS acquired SpaceClaim Corp. in May.
Observing that SpaceClaim has new and improved integration with the
suite of ANSYS tools, Lockwood said that the software has tighter integration
with the ANSYS Workbench platform and ANSYS DesignModeler for geometry handling
for analysis as well as direct connection with the ANSYS HFSS software for
simulating 3D full-wave electromagnetic fields.
According to Lockwood, the SpaceClaim and ANSYS Workbench integration enables
analysts to do a lot of their own geometry preparation easily using
SpaceClaim’s direct modelling tools. He adds that SpaceClaim 2015 also has tools
to do its part in simulation-driven design including new simulation cleanup and
detection tools for short edges, overlap faces and corrupt faces as well as
tools for better control over connections between parts.
