Brookfield has installed Australia’s first ever Ribbon Cone Christmas
Tree at the King Street Wharf, ringing in the festive spirit early in the
season.
Sparkling across the harbour every night from 8pm, the Ribbon Cone
Christmas Tree is prominently situated on the waterfront promenade between Casa
Ristorante Italiano and Nick’s Bar and Grill. Standing at more than 13 metres
tall, weighing 425kg and featuring in excess of 1,500 LEDs, the Australian
designed and engineered tree took eight hours, eight people and two cranes to
install.
The ribbon resembles shimmering, silver ‘tinsel carpet’ that wraps
around the tree, embedded with flashing white LED string lights and white LED
rope light edging.
Melinda Poile, Property Manager at King Street Wharf comments that the Christmas
tree is truly unique to King Street Wharf and looks spectacular at night.
The environment-friendly tree comprises of MK LEDs, which have low CO2
emissions and allow 80 per cent reduction in power consumption.
