Meriton Group, Australia’s largest apartment developer will collaborate
with Livable Housing Australia (LHA) to promote best practice benchmarks for liveable
design.
Meriton’s General Manager, Peter Spira said that Meriton Group has
entered into a Platinum Corporate Partnership with Livable Housing Australia to
support LHA’s commitment to universal standards of safety, comfort and design
excellence.
The hallmark of good apartment design is its ability to adapt to the
changing circumstances and mobility of its residents through every stage of
life; by adopting the Livable Housing Design Guidelines in their apartment
projects, the Meriton Group is providing buyers an assurance of quality that
they can trust.
LHA’s Executive Director, Amelia Starr says Meriton’s commitment is
another step on the road towards industry adoption of the Livable Housing
Design Guidelines. Meriton joins a growing list of Corporate Partners, which
include the Australian Institute of Architects, Property Council of Australia,
Lend Lease, Master Builders Australia and Stockland.
Ms Starr explains that many leaders in the property and construction
industry are embracing the guidelines because they are convinced about how these
simple and straightforward design features make a home easier to live in, and ultimately
easier to sell.
The Property Council of Australia’s Chief Executive Officer, Ken
Morrison congratulated Meriton Group on its leadership.
