Frasers Property has announced the launch of the Jacara Apartments at Putney Hill, a new masterplanned community that sits between Putney and Ryde, NSW.

Named for the jacarandas that adorn the site, the building is designed by Cox Richardson Architects to fit seamlessly within the Putney Hill vision.

This includes a façade of patterned screens that filter the changing light and provide practical shade, while harmonising with the natural settings of Putney Hill.

With 70 residences on offer in a variety of flexible and functional configurations, each of the one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments are finished to specification, and features light and spacious living areas, Blanco appliances and generous balconies.

An extensive private rooftop garden will sit atop the apartments. Designed by landscape architects Environmental Partnership, it has communal garden beds for vegetable plots, which residents can use to grow fresh vegetables and herbs.

This rooftop retreat also consists of a garden shed, a putting green, outdoor barbeque and entertaining facilities, and various sitting and meeting areas.

The Jacara Apartments are the latest development in Putney Hill, a residential community that spans 13.9 hectares. Adjacent to Putney Hill is the Recreation Circle, a brand new facility boasting tennis and basketball courts, lawn terraces, a vegetable garden, community green, playground, walking track and all-new community hall, as well as a childcare centre, professional medical suites and medical centre.  The Recreation Circle forms part of the multi-million dollar rejuvenation of the Royal Rehabilitation Centre.

Envisaged to be a place where city and suburb entwine, Putney Hill features a themed landscape that includes wildlife friendly bushland parks and rainforest-style gardens.

All homes on site are integrated into this natural landscape, and have been cleverly positioned to take advantage of the terrain, making the most of gentle slopes and picturesque views. Energy efficient building materials usage and site orientation furthermore allow homes to capture natural ventilation.

With sustainability in mind, the Jacara apartments will have a 3000 litre rainwater tank, energy efficient lighting, AC systems, and instantaneous gas hot water systems, cross ventilation, and water-saving plumbing fixtures.

Many structures at Putney Hill are also built from re-used demolished material on site, as well as recycled materials from other Frasers Property developments. For instance, approximately 3,000 cubic metres of rock excavated from Frasers’ Central Park development site on Broadway, now line the pond at Lardelli Park, which acts as a rainwater collection point from surrounding areas.

Putney Hill’s construction works commenced in early 2012 and the first houses are due for completion in August 2013.
