Inspired by the conceptual designs of the popular sci-fi series, the ‘Starwars House’ features an angled concrete façade, relieved with thin stripes and boxy windows.

Korean architecture firm Moon Hoon completed the three-storey home for a family in Yongin-si, responding to the client’s need for space for their children to play, while also acknowledging the husband’s childhood dream of being an astronaut.

The irregular volume houses dense living areas on the ground and first floors and an open play room on the upper storey.

The play area includes a short slide and secret room, whose door is concealed within the wall’s shelving pattern.

A central atrium helps to distribute the natural light flooding in from the horizontal-banded windows that cover the structure.

Wood floors and white walls make up the interior finishes, creating a spacious effect for the inhabitants.
