The National Alliance of Building Designers will henceforth be known as the National Association of Building Designers (NABD) to reflect the significant expansion of the peak industry body.
Established in 2013 as an alliance between the Building Designers Associations of Victoria and Queensland, the NABD has since welcomed member associations from the Northern Territory, South Australia and Western Australia.
Currently representing in excess of 80 per cent of the nation’s building design association members, the NABD will continue to promote and develop the building design profession and its commitment to excellence.
Key objectives for the national association include formalising education programs, sharing expertise and pursuing continuous professional development.
The inaugural National Building Design Awards will be presented on Saturday 18 October, as part of Grand Designs Live in Melbourne, and will showcase and recognise the expertise and creativity of building designers nationwide.
