New York-based design team Morpholio Project has launched Board 2.0 – a digital work surface that allows users to pin, arrange and present virtual inspiration boards.
Developed specifically for the iPad and iPhone, Board gives designers, architects, artists, and other creatives access to a library of over 1000 curated design products from collaborating manufacturers such as Herman Miller, Spinneybeck, 3form, Graypants, Filzfelt, and Nanimarquina.
Each image is accompanied by information about the product’s materials, dimensions, color options, and more, all provided directly by the manufacturer.
Using typical controls associated with touch screen devices, Board uses can paste, arrange and switch out products from the library to create a personal collage.
Images of swatches, colours, furniture and fixtures can also be clipped from anywhere on the Internet, with the app compiling and forwarding to your email a list of the URLs from which the items came.
Other innovative features of the app include tools that allow you to sketch instantly over any image and erase their backgrounds to isolate objects for clean overlays.
A ‘conference table’ setting also enables users to edit the board in real time during client presentations or interactive work sessions.
Once completed, boards can be emailed, printed off or published on social media.
Board 2.0 is available now as a free download from the App Store, with the library of materials buyable in-app.
