The Building Designers of the Northern Territory (BDANT) have become the fifth member association to join the National Alliance of Building Designers (NABD).

Alliance president Michael O’Sullivan welcomed the Northern Territory, saying it would allow them to continue to unify the nation’s building design association members.

“This is a great opportunity to work with our Northern Territory colleagues to develop the framework for supporting building designers throughout Australia,” O’Sullivan said.

The NABD was formed in July 2013 by the Building Designers Association of Queensland (BDAQ) and the Building Designers Association of Victoria (BDAV). The body welcomed the Building Designers Association of Western Australia (BDAWA) and the Building Designers Association of SA, in March and April 2014.

The Alliance now claims to unify in excess of 80 per cent of the nation’s building design association members. The group will hold their inaugural National Design Awards in October 2014.
