The Master Plan for Barangaroo Central will complete the long term vision for Barangaroo, creating a new precinct linking the six hectare Headland Park with Lend Lease's Barangaroo South financial hub, with its future planning amendments to include a variation to the location of the landmark hotel.
The master plan will create an exciting vision for Barangaroo Central allowing long term flexibility to include a range of cultural, civic, mixed use, commercial, residential, and retail opportunities in the city’s new waterfront precinct.
“The desire for a world class master planning team for Barangaroo Central, is one step closer, with five teams shortlisted to the next stage of the selection and evaluation process,” John Tabart, CEO, Barangaroo Delivery Authority said.
“We received a range of extremely high calibre submissions from renowned international firms, supported by Australian involvement, reinforcing the global interest in Barangaroo” he said.
The five teams will deliver presentations and participate in interviews, prior to the final selection being made in December 2012.
The Authority intends to select a team by mid December 2012 to commence master planning work in the first quarter of 2013.
