The City is striving to build upon the success of previous years and challenge the status quo to create diverse, immersive and memorable sensory experiences this Christmas.
The aim is to transform Sydney into a magical Christmas wonderland embracing and celebrating the festive spirit in new, exciting ways – not only to delight but inspire Sydneysiders to share, talk and be captivated by compelling Christmas installations across the city.
A combination of creativity, technology and innovation is at the core of the vision. This approach is an opportunity to broaden the conversation about Christmas, whilst it tends to be a traditional time of year, there has been a shift over the years. Let’s take that tradition and open it up to new creative expression that reflects our diverse, multicultural city.
Locations include Martin Place, Hyde Park, Customs House Square, Town Hall, Taylor Square, Kings Cross and Pyrmont. You can review maps of the city and review further information about the city's major parks and venues. The City of Sydney is open to working with tenderers to investigate securing location approvals. Other locations can be proposed and discussed with the City if your tender is selected.
Sydney is in unique position, one of the few cities where Christmas is all about Summer. It’s about beaches, sunshine, warm balmy days and enjoying the outdoors. We are also fortunate to have longer days which brings people and families into the city to see the trees, decorations and share in the festive spirit. Hence, providing another challenge to ensure installations and decorations translate from day to night.
