TAFE NSW announces the launch of a brand new course on Environmental Management and Sustainability.
To begin on 1 May 2017, the Certificate IV in Environmental Management and Sustainability course – the only one of its type in all of TAFE NSW – will run part-time over 18 weeks, and will focus on skills such as waste and waste cost reduction; energy usage and cost reduction; and sustainable procurement. Course participants will receive guidance on applying the acquired knowledge and skills to a business environment.
With strong growth forecast for environmental sustainability occupations, course participants can explore career options in industries where these skills are now in high demand, such as property and construction.
Agata Mitchell, Head Teacher Applied of Environmental Management, said the Certificate IV in Environmental Management and Sustainability course was created to meet industry demand for a course that taught the nuts and bolts of being able to assess and implement environmental protection strategies and tactics that can be applied to ordinary commercial businesses, as well as private residences. The focus will be on imparting hands-on, innovative and practical skills to participants.
The course is being offered at TAFE NSW Ryde in blended learning mode, which consists of online learning as well as face-to-face sessions and field trips.
