TDA Interiors has recently completed works on an upmarket Spanish-style bar and restaurant in Brisbane’s inner city for restaurateur Simon Hill.

Ortiga, located at 446 Brunswick Street in Fortitude Valley, was refurbished by TDA Interiors with new flooring, furniture and kitchen facilities installed across two levels of space.

The 300 sqm project is located within a heritage listed building, which provided challenges for TDA Interiors, with constraints including restricted height in the basement and additional effort to retain original features.

"The designers were mindful of the heritage nature of the building and worked with it to ensure that not only did the exterior stay the same but also that the new fitout enhanced the nature of the building while adding a modern touch," says Andrew Holder, managing director of TDA Interiors.

Ortiga features an open-plan kitchen in the basement with a special exhaust ceiling from Germany, only the third of its kind in Australia.

Other features include exposed brickwork throughout the restaurant, with clear glass covering the walls in the kitchen, pressed metal ceiling featured in the ground floor dining area as well as polished timber and cork floors.
