The South Australian Chapter of the Australian Institute of Architects (AIA) has a new President, with Kirstie Coultas succeeding former President Chris Morely.

Morley, who has stepped down from the role due to the evolution of his practice, Echelon Studio, is glowing in praise for his successor.

“Her participation on Council has seen the Institute continue to provide advocacy and strategic vision while supporting day-to-day practice, and we have great confidence in her ability to further the SA Chapter agenda.”

A practising architect of the last 15 years, Coultas is a Senior Project Manager at RPS Group. Regarded as a strong ambassador of SA’s built environment community, Coultas is both a mentor to budding architects and a mentee to some of the state’s foremost designers.

Moving into the role of President is not new ground for Coultas. She has served as a SA Chapter Councillor for seven years, is Chair of the South Australian and National Education Committees and a member of the SA Designers for Diversity committee. She currently holds the National Education Committee Chair position and has sat on many state and national jury panels.
