In an unprecedented number of elevations for the practice, Architectus’ merger with Conrad Gargett has enabled the studio to expand its capabilities via 55 internal promotions.
Basil Richardson and Terry Braddock join Architectus’ Education team, while Principals Sannah McColl and Rebecca Daff have bolstered the Health and Interior Architecture output of the firm. The Public sector has also welcomed Associate Principal Will Pritchard.
Other promotions include Diana Rosenthal, Michele McSharry and Gary Henighen in the Interior Architecture, Urban Futures and Living sectors as Principals, while eight Associate Principals promotions have been announced: Robin Deutschmann and Angela Collings (Education), John Jeffrey (Public), Craig Earley (Interior Architecture), Vivian Sin (Transport), Jane Fielding (Urban Futures), Christopher Hall-Jordan (Health), and YE Ng (Living).
Architectus CEO Ray Brown says the promotions are a clear indication of the contributions of the practice’s staff, vision and delivery.

Basil Richardson, Principal, Education (Sydney)
Richardson leverages his 30 years of experience in managing and coordinating complex, large-scale projects in the education sector. He has a versatile background in architecture, having worked on various building types internationally and in Australia, including at Fitzpatrick + Partners and Bates Smart. Richards excels in conflict resolution during project documentation and construction phases and is well-versed in sustainability initiatives, Australian codes, regulations, and standards.
Terry Braddock, Principal, Education (Brisbane)
Braddock specialises in creating impactful civic and social architecture that respects community, environment, and culture. With over two decades of experience, he's gained industry recognition for notable projects in Brisbane, including the University of Queensland Sports Precinct, Griffith University Arrivals Building, and innovative vertical schools like Brisbane South State Secondary College and the New Farm State School expansion.
Terry also serves as a panel member on the Queensland Urban Design and Place Panel and has a diverse background that spans time at BVN and international studios in Austria and the UK. Besides education, he brings significant expertise in health, supported housing, and urban precinct master planning to his role.
Sannah McColl, Principal, Health (Melbourne)
Sannah McColl possesses over two decades of expertise in healthcare building design, emphasising evidence-based design coupled with functionality and efficiency. She excels in leadership and project management, adeptly handling complex stakeholder environments and collaborating with diverse teams to meet tight schedules and budgets.
Sannah's notable projects include the Pathway to 144 Mental Health Beds, Frankston Hospital Redevelopment Stages 2 and 3, and the Joan Kirner Women’s and Children’s Hospital, reflecting her background at Lyons, NTC Architects, and Lendlease prior to joining Architectus.
Rebecca Daff, Principal, Interior Architecture (Melbourne)
Rebecca Daff is a seasoned architect driven by a deep understanding of problem-solving. She excels in translating an organisation's brand, values, and business objectives into exceptional environments that cater to both clients and users.
Daff advocates for inclusive design processes, mediating between stakeholders to ensure meaningful impact. Her expertise spans workplace and retail design, honed through experience with high-profile clients like Westpac, Telstra, and Google during her 20-year career at firms including peckvonhartel, Futurespace, Geyer, and Parker Design before joining Architectus.
Diana Rosenthal, Principal, Interior Architecture (Adelaide)
Rosenthal is the national lead for interior design in the Education sector at Architectus, known for her creativity, collaboration, and dedication to sustainability.
Her notable projects include the Sustainable Industries Education Centre at Tonsley Park TAFE and Flinders University’s Health and Medical Research Building. Rosenthal’s expertise extends beyond education to encompass impactful contributions to commercial, workplace, retail, and hospitality projects, including the Qantas Premium Lounge at Brisbane International Airport.
Michele McSharry, Principal, Urban Futures (Sydney)
With over 25 years’ of local and international experience, McSharry’s expertise is developing design vision and master planning for renewal sites. She works across mixed use, commercial, education, residential and transport and infrastructure sectors. Her greatest strength is collaborating with clients and design teams to ensure a strategic approach to every project.
Gary Henighen, Principal, Living (Sydney)
Gary Henighen has designed and delivered significant high rise multi-unit residential projects, over station developments, education and commercial mixed use projects. With an abiding interest in shaping more sustainable and resilient cities, Henighen’s work is defined by design excellence and social equity, resulting in high-quality, meaningful projects for clients and the broader public.
