Troy King has joined Architectus’ Brisbane studio as its new Interior Architecture Principal.
A widely respected interior designer with a portfolio featuring a number of education and workplace projects, King brings his design rigour and delivery know-how to a market the practice hopes to contribute heavily in the coming years.
Troy holds the bulk of his expertise in contemporary education and research spaces at universities, and looks to seamlessly intertwine learning, social and working spaces together. King is able to harness design and technology to assist with clientele navigate shifting landscapes.
Formerly at Hassell as a Senior Associate, award-winning projects undertaken by King include the Birch Building at ANU, the Creative Industries Precinct at QUT, and the Advanced Engineering Building at UQ.

A strong advocate for sustainable design, Troy also delivered a range of education and science projects as a Green Star accredited designer, including UQ’s Global Change Institute, one of the earliest buildings to target net zero in Australia.
In addition to his education expertise, he has created leading-edge workplaces, finding creative solutions for clients including Origin Energy in Brisbane and the ATO in Melbourne and Brisbane.
