Carr has bolstered its senior leadership team with the appointment of new Associate Director Candice Bradley, who will lead the practice’s Hospitality Interior Design Team.

Joining Carr with a swathe of national and international hospitality projects crafted over 20 years, Bradley looks to intertwine place, soul, rigour and nuance to enduring hospitality projects. Bradley’s constant pursuit of achieving ‘the feel’, which entails designing for place and brand, is the centre of her design approach.

“That’s what excites me as a designer. Every project is based on connection to place and a degree of gut feeling. Creating a connected hotel isn’t predicated by a recipe,” Bradley says.

The new Associate Director says getting to know her clients is essential to designing optimal hospitality settings. By deeply understanding her clients’ needs, an honest and strong vision can be established.

We’ve all been to hotels that don’t hit the fundamentals of connected design. A memorable hospitality experience is built on a captivating story of brand and place. I look to craft engaging narratives to inform and shape an experience, which is informed by a strong vision guiding the project’s direction from inception to completion.

“A hotel’s soul is the reflection of the nuances and charm that begins within the space and is echoed beyond the walls of the hotel.”

Bradley often looks to incorporate spaces and elements that are frequented by patrons. Nooks and corner tables and other creature comforts are items she looks to place within her projects.

“The envelope of every project is a delicate balance between design practicalities and beauty,” she says.

“From the moment you arrive to the moment you depart, the guest experience is cohesive and memorable.

“A hotel’s soul is the reflection of the nuances and charm that begins within the space and is echoed beyond the walls of the hotel.”
