GHDWoodhead has appointed Anne Sutherland as Director of Urban Design based in Sydney.
Sutherland is an established urban design leader and registered architect with extensive experience in the design of public space and precincts. She has held senior roles at Transport for NSW working on projects such as the Wynyard and Central Station Precincts, Sydney Light Rail, Sydney Metro and the major roads of Western Parkland City.
She also has extensive experience on design of large scale residential and mixed-use development and policy following senior urban design roles at Landcom, Lend Lease and in consultancy.
Sutherland says, “I’m committed to driving quality design outcomes in all aspects of the built environment. I always strive to integrate place, community and customer experience into the design of transport infrastructure and other large-scale developments. The huge investment in these projects means they need to provide benefit beyond their boundaries into the broader urban context.”
Nicolas Beaulieu-Asselin, GHDWoodhead’s Practice Director – Sydney, says “Anne’s ability to understand placemaking and the impact it can have on the customer experience at the strategic level bolsters our capability in the design and delivery of complex integrated transport infrastructure. It’s also great to have her positive energy as part of our growing team.”
