The practice has added two new senior appointments to its global design team.
“Jake Martin joins as Senior Associate while Jeames Hanley has been appointed in a newly established role of Digital Technology Lead,” shares the Buchan team.
“Jake Martin will elevate Buchan’s expertise in sports stadia and major event design and special event stadium overlay.”
An accomplished architect, Martin has more than 15 years of experience in sports, transport, and urban planning design and project delivery in Australia, Asia and the United States. Jake will take a hands-on role in a range of minor and major social infrastructure projects across the Buchan studios.
A digital strategist and design technology specialist, Jeames Hanley is no stranger to our industry, and brings more than 15 years of experience in applying technology across the built environment.
“Jeames will lead Buchan’s digital transformation strategy with a focus on implementing workflows centred around automation, algorithmic design, machine learning, AI, and digital twin technologies, which present significant opportunities for the architecture industry in project design and delivery, as well as across business operations,” says the practice.
Buchan Chief Strategy Officer Laraine Sperling says the new hires underscore the practice's investment in sector expertise and transformative design.
"Jake and Jeames both bring new thinking and new skills to our ongoing growth plan. They complement our team and bring innovation in design thinking, to benefit projects we are associated with. These are exciting times of growth for our business.”
