Plus Architecture has announced the opening of three new studios in Geelong, Hobart and Adelaide, capitalising on the built environment growth of each respective region.

Now operating across ten studios in Australia and New Zealand, the practice has forged a reputation crafting out high end residential developments, but is looking to expand its influence further.

Plus has promoted Dominic Versace, Georgina Hall and Areej Hashmi-Weyman and Wayne Schiller to lead the Geelong, Hobart and Adelaide studios respectively. Director Patric Przeradzki says it was crucial for the practice’s business development to establish on-the-ground presences in each of the regions it has now opened studios within.

“Offering more affordable, well-balanced lifestyles and vibrant cultural experiences, Geelong, Hobart and Adelaide are fast becoming popular destinations for people moving away from our largest cities,” he says.

“With this exciting period of growth comes increased demand for new well-designed developments and improved infrastructure that provide long-term strategic solutions for communities.”

“We already have a strong network and existing project portfolio in these regions, so establishing a local presence is a natural next step for Plus Architecture.”

Plus Architecture Director Ian Briggs says the escape to the country taken up by former city residents in Geelong, Hobart and Adelaide has sprung the practice into action.

“We see the development of these dynamic regional cities as important priorities in Australia’s future, and look forward to working hand-in-hand with local industry and government to improve the day-to-day lives of these local communities.”.

Geelong’s Studio Lead Dominic Versace will be tasked with leading the practice’s foray into the built environment in Australia’s second fastest growing city. Joining Plus in 2017, Versace has displayed excellent leadership qualities, as well as delivering high-quality architectural solutions. The new Studio Lead is committed to Plus’ vision in shaping a thriving hub in Geelong for current and future generations.

Tasmania native Georgina Hall will return to Hobart to lead Plus’ new studio after six years in the practice’s Perth studio. Plus Architecture Director Ian Briggs, who also hails from Tasmania, will be working closely to support the Hobart team. The new studio will work alongside local communities and stakeholders to boost affordable housing, healthcare and education among other infrastructure.

Plus Senior Associates Areej Hashmi-Weyman and Wayne Schiller will be at the heart of the Adelaide studio’s vision to support the long-term growth of the city. Anticipated to increase by 20,000, Adelaide’s population’s living experience will be enhanced by Plus’ expertise.

Hashmi-Weyman previously worked with Plus Architecture in Melbourne, before moving to Adelaide in 2022, re-joining the practice this year. Schiller, originally from South Australia, joined Plus in 2022. Having both worked in urban design and architecture internationally for over 20 years, Hashmi-Weyman and Schiller bring a wealth of expertise and knowledge to the Adelaide studio.

Similar to Hobart, Plus will look to boost its South Australian healthcare, aged-care, hospitality and education output.
