Recognising his lifetime of urban design research, Professor Matteos Santamouris from UNSW has been awarded the 2024 Sustainability Awards Lifetime Achievement Award.
Prof Santamouris holds the Anita Lawrence Professorship of High Performance Architecture at the University of New South Wales in Australia.
His academic career includes a past position as professor at the University of Athens, Greece, and visiting professorships at several institutions, including the Cyprus Institute, Metropolitan University of London, Tokyo Polytechnic University, Bolzano University, Brunel University, and the National University of Singapore.
He also served as the President of the National Center of Renewable Energy Sources and Energy Savings in Greece.
Santamouris has served as guest editor for special issues of numerous scientific journals. He has coordinated numerous international research programs and authored close to 290 peer-reviewed papers.
His expertise has been sought by research institutions worldwide, and he has reviewed projects across 15 countries, including the United States, the United Kingdom, France, and Germany. Santamouris has established himself as a leading figure in the field of energy and environmental science. Congratulations – and thanks BlueScope for the support.
