Leica Geosystems, famous for survey instrumentation, pioneered laser precision technology and in 1993 introduced Disto, the world’s first hand held laser distance meter. Over the ensuing years the Disto range has incorporated many world firsts, including data interface, Pythagoras function, inbuilt optical viewfinder, integrated digital viewfinder and 360 degrees tilt sensor.
The latest addition to the Disto range is the D5 and another world first: Digital Pathfinder with 4x zoom. This integrated digital pathfinder with zoom makes finding the target at long distances much easier.
The large 2.4” colour display provides a sharp crystal clear image even in glaring sunlight. The display also presents measurement results in an easy to read format.
An in-built tilt sensor allows measuring up to +45 degrees. You can measure absolutely horizontal or measure past obstructions horizontal distance. The integrated Power Range Technology measures up to 100m without a target plate and up to 200m using a target plate.
A host of functions help you quickly and precisely resolve almost any measurement situation, including indirect Pythagorean measurement and Trapezium function. As with all Disto units the D5 comes with a standard two- year warranty plus an optional extra year at no charge. - CR Kennedy & Co
